Sage Semafara

Chief Policy and Partnerships Officer

Sage Semafara is a health equity leader dedicated to building fair policies and strategic partnerships that ensure universal access to quality healthcare. Currently serving as the Chief Policy and Partnerships Officer for Partners In Health/Inshuti Mu Buzima (PIH/IMB), she has been an integral part of the organization since 2022. Her leadership experience includes previous roles as Chief of Staff to the Executive Director and interim Vice Chancellor of the University of Global Health Equity (UGHE).

With over 15 years of experience in the health sector, Sage focuses on community health management and policy reform. Before joining PIH, she served as the Executive Secretary of the Rwanda Network of People Living with HIV/AIDS (RRP+), where she led socio-economic improvements and service delivery models. Her professional background also includes roles with the Ministry of Health and GIZ. Sage is a contributor to national technical working groups and holds an MBA from Oklahoma Christian University and a Master’s in Public Health from the University of Rwanda.
